Women face a unique set of challenges that demand a holistic approach to wellness tailored to our specific needs and experiences. Sustained change can be daunting. How often do we initiate a new habit or routine, only to see it fade away within days, weeks, or months? A Unique Story
Living a healthy lifestyle has always been important to me, but like many of you, at times my wellness journey has been a rollercoaster of highs and lows as I’ve tried to balance healthy lifestyle habits with the demands of work, the joys and challenges of raising a family, and life’s unpredictable twists. Amidst it all, the onset of perimenopause and menopause blindsided me. I didn’t always recognize the disruptive symptoms as part of this hormonal shift. Looking back, I realize I was powering through life with hot flashes, heart palpitations, mood swings, weight gain, and more. The lack of real talk about menopause left me feeling ill-equipped to take control of my health and wellness.
Losing both of my parents within six weeks dealt another unexpected blow. The added challenges of grief took a toll on every aspect of my health, making it feel nearly impossible to envision a stronger, healthier, happier version of myself.
However, with time, intention, and a shift in perspective, I found gratitude and excitement for the present moment. I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, prioritizing my mental, physical, and spiritual health. This led to a career change in my 50s as I pursued further education and certification as a Master Certified Health Coach. Now, I’m grateful for the opportunity to support and empower women on their own wellness journeys through menopause and beyond.
Finding balance and joy in life is paramount to me. Engaging in activities I love and spending time with loved ones are essential components of my wellness journey. You might catch me hiking, watercolor painting, centering myself with yoga, exploring new healthy recipes, listening to live music, or playing with my dogs, Hank and Bella.
Michelle’s approach to wellness coaching is genuine and caring, with an intuitive understanding that sets her apart. Her ability to create a relaxed and casual atmosphere sets me at ease during our sessions. This comfortable environment allows for open and honest conversations, making it easy to discuss areas of my life where I aspire to make positive changes. She guides me through self-reflection, helping me identify areas for personal growth without ever making me feel judged or criticized. This aspect of her coaching style fosters a sense of trust and vulnerability, creating a space where I feel comfortable exploring my goals and aspirations. Together, we collaboratively create a roadmap for positive change in my life. The process involves setting realistic goals, developing strategies to achieve them, and lastly a supportive system for accountability. This accountability piece has significantly heightened my self-awareness, motivation, and sense of responsibility.
